The only way to really understand what it is like walking and walking is to walk and walk and walk. Even just a few steps is a huge step. A step, that can be one of the most important steps of your life. A step that can make or break you. A step that could take you to a place you don’t want to go. A step that could cause a lifelong friendship to form.
But walking magazine has a new story trailer, coming soon to PlayStation Network, that shows how Colt Vahn’s life and new vision are unraveling in real-time. And in the trailer Colt’s new vision is actually shown in action, not just the text and the music.
Colt Vahn is a walking magazine comic. (Or is it walking magazine comic?) That is because it is a game of strategy and deduction. It is an interactive game, so you have to learn to manipulate a map and decide what targets you want to hit. Think of it as Chess, but for walking. So much so that in the trailer there is a “walking magazine” section at the top of the board that allows us to play the game.
This is the best part of the trailer. You can literally walk through the map and see the path Colt Vahn’s walking. The game is constantly updating the map. This is not a game where you simply move around the map. You must think about what you want to do and make sure you get there.
Again, I’d love to have that walk-through, but it’s not really practical. For example, I can walk through the map with my back turned and see the path, but I can’t see the path of the person who made the map. This is a great example of how walking magazines really help us see the world around us.
That’s why I love walking magazines. They allow us to see the world around us in a way that we would never ever get to in real life. Not only is the map an important part of the game, it’s also the whole reason for the game. The map is the world we’re walking around in. In the game you can talk to people and ask them questions. In real life you might only ever talk to people you know.
In Deathloop, you can be anyone, and you’ll be as smart as any other person in the world, but that doesn’t matter. The map is where you and your friends can talk and find out about other people’s lives.
In the game you can also interact with NPC’s, and they will do things for you. They can ask you for information, tell you to do weird things, and generally make you feel as weird as they are. In real life you just might be able to talk to other people, but you might be more limited by where you are and what you know. This is important because it shows us the difference between the two types of games.
Walking magazine is an example of what I like to call “social games.” In real life there is no such thing as “walking.” But in games, walking is what you do to stay alive. A walking magazine is an example of a game that lets you meet new people, talk to them, and get to know them. Walking in the real world is just a way of interacting with people. Walking in games is a way of interacting with the game.
