I am not talking about alcohol or even food related drinks, but the social aspects that we share during and after a meal. We enjoy them, we make them, and we are willing to take more than just a sip to feel the magic. This is something that is difficult to get right.
There is a reason why we drink and eat. It is to share with others and it’s a way of having a conversation that is meaningful to us. In this case, we are all sharing the same meal together and we are all having fun. Some people have a harder time taking a sip so they have to make it clear when it’s time to take a sip. Others just sip and eat their way through the meal.
The problem with doing this too often is that it can feel as though the food is taking away from the conversation, when in fact, it’s the opposite. In a conversation, people are talking about their experiences, experiences they’ve had, and conversations that they’ve had. When we are eating, we are also taking things away from the conversation.
