If you have the Google Pixel 2, you’ve been given a special treat. You’ve been provided with a special card that allows you to remove the sim card from your phone.
This is cool because you already have the ability to remove the sim card without rooting your phone, but this also means you can have the card removed from the phone without the card physically disappearing. This might seem like a small thing, but it’s actually a bit of a game changer for the people who don’t have a google account. After all, you’re basically giving them a way to remove the ability to access certain things on your phone.
It’s also a bit of a game changer if anyone has had an Android phone with a SIM card that has started to show up on the market. Google Pixel 2 owners should be able to remove the sim card on the phone by using a tool called SIM Unplug. This will allow you to remove the sim card completely from the phone, and is currently only available on stock Android phones, but we aren’t sure if the next Android release will include it.
SIM Unplug is an app that requires you to hold down the power button for a second every day to remove the SIM card from your phone. Google Pixel 2 owners with this tool should be able to remove the sim card from the phone in just a few days (if you’ve already done so).

SIM Unplug is a handy tool to remove the sim card from a phone. It’s great to have in any busy household, but I feel like I’ve seen it on pretty much every Google phone since the Nexus 5.
The process of removing the sim card should be easy enough, but the next step is to remove the battery. SIM Unplug will remove the battery and allow you to put a new SIM card into the phone. SIM Unplug isn’t available for any iOS devices right now though.
SIM Unplug can be found in the Google Play store for $1.99. The phone is the Nexus 5X.
I am not sure what you mean by “the sim card is on the phone”.
Like all SIM cards, the pixel 2 has a micro SIM which is basically the same thing as a normal SIM card, but the micro SIM has a few new features. The micro SIM can’t be removed, so it stays on the phone. You can use SIM Unplug to remove and replace the SIM card. You can use it while it’s in your pocket or bag. It makes sense, really.
