A duplicate tab in Chrome is a shortcut to a web page. It is a great way to open a web page without having to scroll up and down and then manually click in the browser window.
How Chrome handles this is very different than most other browsers. Chrome will open a web page, but then go to the URL bar and use the browser’s address bar to type in the exact URL to open your browser. It is incredibly frustrating to try to open a website in Chrome that you know is a duplicate. To fix this, you can just type the URL exactly in the Chrome address bar.
