Gmail is a great email client that is so simple to use, it’s worth the hassle of using. However, the fact of the matter is that the majority of our email messages end up in the trash, or are discarded without ever being opened. It’s an unfortunate fact of life. Gmail is here to stay, but we’re all going to have to adapt to the fact that it is not the only email client in the world.
Gmail is a big step in the direction of making email more “private.” That’s nice, but it still leaves room for the possibility of a few things to go wrong. The first of these, of course, is that your email will be private. Gmail is one of the most open email clients in existence, but in order for this to work, all of your email messages have to be in plain text.
Gmail and Google Apps are both great services, and a lot of the time we are only interested in the things that are a little bit more private. A lot of the time though they are also incredibly useful. A lot of people like the functionality of Gmail. One of the things I love about Gmail is that you can use the bulk folder to automatically save emails that you don’t want to see anymore.
You know when someone has a gmail account and you don’t want to be annoyed that they keep sending you stuff that you don’t want to read? You can use gmail hide hangouts to hide these emails so you can find them easier. These messages are a little too personal to show up in your gmail inbox.
Gmail has hidden hangouts, which are a way to hide your gmail messages so that they don’t become public information. Hide hangouts are essentially like hidden pop-ups. They are set to display for a set amount of time before disappearing. This option appears as a pop-up box at the top of your gmail inbox and appears to be a gmail “pop-up blocker”. You can hide your messages manually or by enabling the option.
The option is really quite simple: Click on the “hide” option, which is near the top right of your mail list. You’ll be shown a drop-down menu that allows you to select “Hide”. To hide it, you simply click on this option. To unhide it, you click on this option again.
It’s not that gmail’s hide option isn’t a useful thing. There are two reasons why this is. 1) Many users are so used to hiding their emails in the gmail inbox that they might just as easily click on this option and hide it. 2) The option is a little bit counter-intuitive. Sure, you can hide your messages by default in gmail, but if you’re looking at hidden emails the first time through, it’s a little weird to find them.
I like the idea of hiding emails in gmail, because it lets me keep them out of the inbox, yet still have the option to read them whenever I want. The only issue is that the option is only available when viewing your email. If you are not reading your email, it doesn’t matter what you hide them in. If you are reading them, you will have to click on this option to unhide them.
The issue is that if you do that, youll see the emails that you have previously hidden in your inbox, but when you hover your mouse over the hidden emails in your inbox, the email is actually still hidden. It looks like your gmail account is on auto-delete, and when you hit the delete button it will do a hard delete of all your accounts. So if you accidentally clicked the “hide” link in your browser, you will have lost the emails you were hiding.
I have to say I agree that it’s a bad idea to not hide emails. But I think this is a mistake that Google has made a couple of times this year, and a mistake that I was personally guilty of last night. When I clicked the hide link it was because I had accidentally clicked an email I didn’t want to hide in my inbox. It was a mistake that I should have known better.
