For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you know that I am a big supporter of food grade vegetable glycerin. It not only helps with my skin issues, but it can help improve the overall taste of your food. It can help you use less oil and water. It doesn’t add to the cost of the food because it’s not meant for fast food.
Well the truth of the matter is that I am not a huge fan of food grade vegetable glycerin. Yes, it is better than regular table sugar. Yes, it is much cheaper than regular table sugar. But it just seems like it’s a bit of a waste.
The reality is that it’s not a huge waste. It is probably the most effective way we know to use up table sugar. Not to mention the fact that it saves you money because you can’t go to the grocery store and get the sugar you need for your food.
It’s even the easiest to use on a regular diet because it saves you.
It also sounds like a useful tool for people who are sensitive to sugar in their food and are looking for a way to get around eating less. The truth is that it is a waste. It doesnt have the same flavor or texture as regular table sugar. And the fact that it is a chemical, which is bad for you, is just one more thing that makes it a bit of a waste.
Food grade vegetable glycerin is a common ingredient in many foods that we use in our daily lives. Like any other chemical, the glycerin has health benefits depending on the amount of people using it.
I love that. I love that they are trying to get rid of that chemical that is so toxic to humans, our bodies. I love this. I love the whole idea of making it taste delicious, something that it was once just a chemical that was not that good. It is a great idea.
Ahem. It is not a good idea in a lot of ways. Glycerin is not a good anti-inflammatory, it is not good for the immune system, and it is not good for digestion. It is also not good for the heart and can cause kidney failure. For reasons that I cannot explain, the FDA has allowed for the use of these ingredients in food ingredients for a long time, as a common ingredient in many processed foods that we buy for ourselves.
One has to wonder whether the FDA has even the slightest clue what is in our food. If their product recommendations are any indication, glycerin is a good idea. It has anti-inflammatory properties, and is great for those with high blood pressure. But it can also cause kidney failure, and has a bad taste, so I can definitely see why these ingredients are allowed in our food.
