Sure, you can row everyday, and you can drive every day and get a lot farther each year than you did last year. But, what if you row every single day? What if you started every single day with a new challenge or a new activity? It could be something you love to do, or it could be something you want to improve.
Well, we’ve all been there. When we were first starting out, we just wanted an easy part-time job that we could do at home. And now that we’ve been married for a few years we know that that can’t be all there is to life. It’s hard to go from one activity to another when you’re still learning and growing. I mean, you’ve been married for 3 years, and you are still learning.
We’ve all been there. And like all other things, when you start out, you think it is easy and it takes a little while to get it. As you get more experienced and pick up new skills, its much easier to get into the groove of things. Now, it’s worth noting that we are all introverts and are all used to being alone, so it is easier to focus on yourself and your personal projects.
The idea of just getting a little rower under your belt is great. I know that some people are more into being in the water, but in reality, even rowers need a little help. Like the water can be a little rough, so you might need to row under the water a few times.
No matter what, rowers are still in the water. They are still doing things in water. But we are all introverts and we have to learn to be comfortable in our own skin. It’s very easy to just get into the groove of things, go to the gym, go to the movies, and not think about anything else. But, for me, I need to think about what I’m going to wear that day and what I need to do to get ready for work.
While I am a terrible introvert, I find it hard to row, because I can’t really sit down for long. It makes me feel really bad, but I think I have to do it for my body to work and my mind to think. We need to find a balance.
We all have our own ways of being uncomfortable with things. It might not be the same as us, but it’s like you and I in that our bodies and minds are like a pair of headphones to listen to the world. This is so important, because when we can’t hear the world around us, our lives are a complete mess. In a perfect world we could be the most comfortable people on the planet. Which is what we need for our own bodies to thrive.
It’s not only a matter of getting out of bed and getting everything done. It’s also a matter of doing it daily. We have to get back to the basics and focus on things that matter. A great way to do this is to try something new every day. If you’re not into learning new activities, try doing the same thing every day. If you’re not into a specific thing, try doing it for a while and see if you get bored.
One of the many things that makes getting back to the basics so hard is just getting started. It doesn’t help that many people use the internet (and especially e-mail) to do the same things every day. It’s not a matter of being comfortable. It’s a matter of doing it every day when you can.
I know that sounds like I’m bragging, but I’m not. I’m just saying that the best way to get things done is to do them the first chance you get and see if you like it. Its not going to change what you want to do in life.
