I am always a bit hesitant about the use of the word “healthy” in the food industry. The term “healthy” is typically associated with “clean eating,” which is all well and good, but I have come to realize that there are many types of eating that are healthy and that don’t have to be. I tend to use the term “healthy” to describe any food that is not heavily processed or that is low in fat or sugar.
It’s important to note that the term healthy does not mean “light,” as in “healthy food has no added fat, no salt, and no sugar.” I’m also not convinced that many people eat healthy foods without feeling guilty about it.
I think it is important to stress that healthy eating is about overall balance, and not about feeling good about what you are eating. When I say balanced, I mean that you want to eat foods that are not overly processed or high in fat and sugar, but that you are not eating foods that are loaded with junk. This includes, to some extent, foods that are high in healthy fats such as nuts, avocados, and fruit.
Eating foods that are good for you is also necessary to avoid the danger of becoming addicted. Addictions are a result of a need to have something that is both pleasurable and satisfying. When your body craves a substance and your brain craves the same thing (a dopamine/adrenaline rush) then you are more likely to develop an addiction. Not all addictions are the result of a drug, though, but I am guessing that many of them are, at least in some cases.
I have to say I have never known of a food that I have not put some thought into whether or not to eat. It is a decision made between my body and my brain. It is a hard decision to make, because you want to avoid being hungry. However, when you are aware of the choices you are making and you do not need a substance that is going to take away your hunger, then you can make the right decisions.
I am not saying that you should never try a new food. I am giving you some tips on what foods you should and should not try.
I think I have a pretty good idea about what food I should never try. There are a lot of foods out there that I cannot eat at all because I have not done my due diligence as a food person. It is not an easy thing to do. When I was a kid growing up, the only food I was allowed to eat was what my parents ate. I wanted to grow up with a healthy diet and not eat a bunch of processed stuff that made me thirsty.
The problem is that there are a bunch of processed foods that you can’t eat. There are basically just a bunch of foods that have been stripped down to the barest minimum like nothing but the best ingredients and are totally devoid of anything but the absolute barest minimum of calories. And you can’t really eat them because what is in them are processed and not good for you. So you don’t even want to know what the food looks like.
Well what if you could eat a meal of something that has an amazing nutrient profile? What would you do if you could eat this? How about I give you the option to eat something that has a lot of nutrients because it’s a great meal. Something that is balanced and healthy. Something that is delicious and just tastes good. Something that tastes good because it’s not filled with preservatives. Something that tastes good because it’s healthy. Something you can eat because it’s good for you.
I know this is a food question but I’m sure you’ve got a better one, so I’m going to get the answer I’m looking for. How about the fact that you can have a meal of a vegetable that has more fiber than a bowl of ice cream? You can eat a steak that isn’t filled with fat. You can eat a steak that isn’t loaded with a lot of salt.
