The only thing I will say about my workout routine is that I am not particularly dedicated. I know a few people who train religiously who are truly dedicated, but I am a lazy person. I always have a long list of excuses why I don’t do something. So, I was curious to see if there was a workout regime that was working for me. I started with the basics, which included some light cardio and weight training.
This is all fine, but then I started to go heavy on the weights and cardio. I was going from a weight of around 60-70 lbs to around 120 lbs in about a week and a half of doing this. I was also doing a few other things in addition to this, but these were just minor details for me. The main thing was to do this and not to think about it. I just went with the flow and kept it simple.
You may be thinking that you’re doing the right thing by avoiding thinking about it, but it’s really not like it’s some great secret, it’s just something that you do. You can do it for a few hours or even for a full day and then you just go back to your normal routine. The same thing happens to lots of people.
It’s not like you’re sitting at a bus stop not thinking about it. We all have to deal with things we have to do at some point in our lives. It’s just that it’s usually at a place that doesn’t require us to think about it.
Its like youre on an airplane, and it takes you to someplace and you have to take a shower, and you go to eat, and you try to stop thinking about the plane as you eat and the food as you eat and you try to stop thinking about your plane as you eat. This is especially true if youre having to do something new and different.
For example, when I was in college I had to take care of a family member who was in the hospital for a major surgery. Its the most stressful thing any of us could have to do. He needed to be transferred to a different hospital and the procedures were the most complicated I had ever experienced. I had to be alert for things like blood sugar and vital signs, and the hospital was in a big hospital.
The stress and trauma of a big operation and the sheer physical challenge of the transition can definitely take a toll on your body. When you have to get up and move around a little bit, the risk of hurting yourself can be higher.
I’ll admit that the first thing I did after surgery was put on a full-body “body brace.” My surgeon told me that I would be back to work in two weeks. As I got ready to put on the brace, I felt like I was making a mistake. My surgeon kept saying, “Be careful, be careful.” I was so stressed out that I put on the brace, and then about an hour later it was too late. The brace really did help in my recovery.
The problem that the brace is designed to solve is one of balance. I’m very tall, and I found myself constantly leaning on my arms when I moved to catch my balance. I had to relearn how to move my body, and as a result, I had to learn that, to me, “leaning” wasn’t a word. It’s something I’ve had to do a lot of my life.
A more common problem is that by the time we’re in the swing phase of the program the weight is too much. The brace also helps to put out that excess stress.
