I’m not sure what it says about the world that so many of us are so concerned and so obsessed with diet and exercise that we are so obsessed with training and working out.
For most of us, fitness is a last resort, a way to get a little bit more “normal” before going on a diet or going on a quest for a new body. It’s not a quick fix, and it’s not a long-term solution.
Im not even sure what it says about diet and exercise that so many of us obsess over training and working out. The fact is that as a society we have a growing problem with weight problems. One person in 12 people in the United States has diabetes, and the number is growing every year.
One of the biggest reasons that many of us have difficulty losing weight is that we don’t do it enough. And we don’t do it consistently. Over the course of a year, the typical person loses about 35 pounds. But even this figure doesn’t do it justice. It’s not even close. The typical person in the United States only loses about 7 pounds a week. And when you figure out that 7 pounds is about 3.
It’s not like that happens on a daily basis. A typical person in the United States will do about 30 minutes of cardio and then work out for 5-10 minutes. Thats about it. Not a lot of cardio. A lot of cardio is necessary on a daily basis, but its not the norm.
We think it is important to work out more, and we think it is important to exercise more. And by getting fit, we may be able to maintain our body weight and keep it off. So we’ve put together a 10-week workout program that will give you a good base of exercise and will provide some cardio for those who dont want to do much exercise. The workout is designed to be accessible for people of all fitness levels.
In our review of the full Living Color workout DVD, the author states that the workouts are actually challenging enough to provide a sense of accomplishment, and the DVD does a good job of explaining how to get your cardio in. We’ve also found that the best part about the workouts is that theyre done on a treadmill, so you can actually see where youre starting to burn calories and how you can do more.
Yes, you can actually do the workouts on your treadmill, but this is only really applicable if youve got a treadmill. So, if youre going to do an exercise DVD, you’d better make sure youve got a treadmill. For the rest of us, we can do the workouts lying on the couch.
The most effective cardio workout you could do would be to lie on a couch and do nothing. But weve found out that this can actually keep you from doing any cardio. When we went to do the treadmill workout, we found the couch to be as close to death as you can get. It was so awful that when the treadmill was turned off, we actually did the workout lying on the couch and managed to keep ourselves from dying.
Most people don’t realize until it’s too late how much they exercise when they want to. A lot of it is probably because exercise is so ingrained that we aren’t aware of it until it’s too late. The same thing happens with meditation. After the initial shock of feeling good, we begin losing the ability to focus. In fact, it turns out that the more we spend our time meditating, the more we lose the ability to focus.
