The exercise I recommend is a plank. The plank is a sort of inverted cross between a sit-up and a push-up, done on the ground or on something like a stability ball. If you can do a good full plank, you will have a much firmer stomach. Don’t forget the other exercises like the crunches, leg raises, and calf raises as well.

Yes, it seems like a small thing, but try the following exercise. Have a friend sit on your back. Then while still on your back, take one of the biggest yoga balls you have and squeeze it. This will cause your stomach to round up and flatten out. Once your stomach has a firm feel, then sit up and take the back of a chair, or even the back of a chair you can push from behind.
It sounds weird, but it works. Just make sure that you do this while standing.

The back of a chair is a little more challenging than just sitting in one, but its easy and definitely good for losing a few extra pounds. A more advanced way to trim your waist is to take the belt off your pants and tie it around your waist. I’ve found that the tightness of my belt and the extra weight it holds give me a bit of an “I’m in control” feeling.
The belt trick also works for people with a really tight bottom. Ive made it a point to wear my underwear as tight as possible to get rid of extra fat while wearing jeans. I like to wear a belt with my underwear. I know this sounds like a weird thing to do, but I like to feel like I can be a bit of a badass when I’m done.
